Indirect Measurement: Define indirect measurement. Explain why indirect measurement is used.
Students are introduced to the objectives of the next unit, and the definition of an indirect measurement. They are asked to brainstorm as many ways of measuring something indirectly as they can. They are taught equal ratios through the problem of Eratosthenes. They have time in which to work on their Equal Ratios worksheets.

Indirect Measurement: Be able to use different methods of indirect measurement.
Students conduct the Indirect Measurement Lab.

Equal Ratios: Be able to solve an equal ratios problem.
